Designer and photographer Ben Delaney is using SlideShowPro on his attractive portfolio site. He’s built a custom navigation bar that interfaces with SlideShowPro, plus a handy full screen toggle that expands the content full screen. Beautiful work.

A new update for SlideShowPro Director is available for download. As usual, it’s free for all registered users. Changes are mostly bug fixes, but there is one new feature — square thumbnails. This alternate thumbnail type captures the center area of an image and creates a square shaped thumbnail; giving your collection of thumbnails a uniform look.
To check out what’s changed, see the Director version history. To download, login to your member page (through User Login above), and click on the Director product link. The update link is on the following page.

A new screencast for Director has been posted to the site. It’s about 14 minutes long and demonstrates how to import photos, generate slide show images, edit metadata, and publish a slide show from Flash that retrieves its data from Director. So if you haven’t seen Director in action yet, this is a good introduction to the basic mechanics of the product. Watch it here. (QuickTime required)
